Sharjah Government Communication Award Highlights Changemakers in Digital Content
SHARJAH, 26th May, 2025 — Now in its 12th edition, the Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA), organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, continues to cement its reputation as a premier platform spotlighting creativity, innovation, and purposeful communication. This year, the award reinforces its innovative approach to recognising influence and communication with the introduction of the “Best Changemakers in Digital Content Category.”
Open for nominations through July 24, the award aims to honour individuals and entities who drive positive change through impactful digital content. It invites content creators, visionaries, and communicators to apply and showcase their contributions to knowledge, community cohesion, and meaningful dialogue.
The revamped digital content category complements the overarching vision of the SGCA. Originally titled “Best Meaningful Digital Content Creators,” it has evolved to encompass a broader spectrum of content types and voices, recognising not just influencers but changemakers—content writers, photographers, videographers, and creatives who use digital media to convey constructive, educational, and inspiring messages.
The “Best Changemakers in Digital Content Category” is split into two segments: “Best Changemaker Under 18” and “Best Changemaker Over 18.” Both segments are open to applicants from all backgrounds, with evaluations conducted by a judging panel based on stringent criteria. These include creativity, quality and message relevance, content sustainability, technology integration, ethical digital conduct, and the impact on community learning and interaction.
This year, the SGCA embraces a comprehensive framework with 23 categories spanning five major sectors: Government Entities, International Organisations, the Private Sector, Individual Awards, Partners Awards, and Jury Awards. This structure offers a well-rounded opportunity for local and international participants to be acknowledged for their transformative roles in communication.
Applicants can submit their entries via the award’s official portal: https://gca.sgmb.ae.
The SGCA continues to play a pioneering role in inspiring communication that not only informs but also uplifts and empowers. With its expanded digital content category, it recognises the dynamic and evolving ways citizens and institutions alike connect, share, and lead with intention in the digital age.
